The country&#8217;s largest horror film festival will feature 32 events and 23 West Coast premieres.<\/p>\n<p>The festival, which is once again being held at Hollywood&#8217;s famed Egyptian Theatre, will run between Friday, September 29 and Tuesday, October 10. Beyond Fest&#8217;s slate is also garnering attention for its commitment to raise funds for the nonprofit 501c3 American Cinematheque.   <\/p>\n<p>Beyond Fest, which will screen movies from around the world, will open with a screening of the thriller, &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2017\/08\/24\/brawl-cell-block-99-new-poster\/\">Brawl in Cell Block 99<\/a>.&#8217; The film&#8217;s director, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2015\/12\/26\/exclusive-interview-sid-haig-talks-bone-tomahawk-blu-ray-and-dvd-release\/\">S.Craig Zahler<\/a>, will attend the festival with Vince Vaughn and Udo Kier. The festival&#8217;s closing night will feature a screening of co-writer-director Yorgos Lanthimos&#8217; horror mystery movie, &#8216;The Killing of a Sacred Deer.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the most beloved genre films will also be highlighted at Beyond Fest, as a series of special event screenings will be held. There will be 30th anniversary screenings of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2015\/05\/06\/interview-arnold-schwarzenegger-joely-richardson-and-henry-hobson-talk-maggie\/\">Arnold Schwarzenegger<\/a>&#8216;s &#8216;Predator&#8217; and &#8216;The Running Man.&#8217; Dario Argento will also be in attendance at the festival, and will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of &#8216;Suspiria.&#8217; The horror movie&#8217;s co-writer-director will attend screenings of Synapse Film&#8217;s 4K restoration AND the recently unearthed 35mm print.<\/p>\n<p>Mick Garris and Masters of Horror are also set to preside over a reverential tribute to two of the horror genre&#8217;s greatest filmmakers, the late George A. Romero and Tobe Hooper. Beyond Fest will screen a double bill that will feature the West Coast premiere of &#8216;Moma&#8217; and FIlm Foundation&#8217;s &#8216;Night of the Living Dead&#8217; 4K digital restoration and &#8216;The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Beyond Fest is welcoming the return of genre streaming platform, Shudder, as its co-presenting sponsor. The partnership is providing 14 screenings, including 11 West Coast premieres, that will be free to film fans. Every night, the 90-seat Shudder Theatre will feature a different movie that has been selected from across the world, including home invasion thriller, &#8216;Better Watch Out;&#8217; the critically acclaimed Canadian zombie movie, &#8216;Les Affames (&#8216;The Hungry&#8217;), and Marc Meyers&#8217; searing portrait of the title serial-killer-in-the-making, &#8216;My Friend Dahmer.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for Beyond Fest will go on sale at noon PT tomorrow, September 8, on Fandango.
