After this weeks shocking Roy Moore yearbook revelation<\/a> and several recent\u00a0bar investigations<\/a>, celebrity lawyer and feminist Gloria Allred is once again stretching the bounds of the law, and her profession’s ethics<\/em> in attempting to save her own professional reputation, as she attempts to try to discredit Hologram USA CEO and FilmOn owner, Alki David<\/strong>.\u00a0 In the face of sworn testimony, the civil rights<\/em> attorney is denying allegations that her firm offered to pay off a potential witness and plaintiff in her battle with the entrepreneur. The rebuttals are the attorney\u2019s official response to the California State Bar<\/strong> opening an inquiry into her connection to the bribe.<\/p>\n

The inquiry into Allred has been confirmed to David\u2019s Los Angeles-based entertainment attorney, Barry K. Rothman<\/strong>, in a State Bar letter. Despite Allred\u2019s claims of her innocence, the bar still decided to open the inquiry, after a former employee of David\u2019s claimed that he was offered money to help her firm in its litigation against the CEO. That former employee Malik Spellman, is perhaps best known for his work on A&E’s reality series “The Peacemaker”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Spellman, who worked as an independent contractor for FilmOn and Hologram USA in 2010 and 2011, stated in this declaration<\/a> that a man who claimed to work for Allred\u2019s law office called him in October. The man allegedly asked Spellman how long he worked for David, how much he was paid and what his relationship was like with the billionaire. Spellman also explained that the man solicited him as a witness in the case and stated that if he helped Allred\u2019s firm in the litigation against his former boss, he could receive money.<\/p>\n

The former employee, Malik Spellman<\/strong>, informed Rothman\u2019s office about the alleged bribe during a surprise call in October. After hearing the news, Rothman felt that it was his duty to notify the bar of the allegations. He added that he didn\u2019t report the allegation to hurt anyone, but felt it was important to inform the bar of Spellman\u2019s concerns.
