The mysterious duo from parts-unknown decided to release an EP titled <\/span><b><i>Exponents<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between LP releases; <\/span><b><i>Philosophies<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> earlier this year and a new album due to drop later in 2018. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While some might just throw a bunch of B-sides and alternative tracks together and call it an EP, <\/span><b><i>Exponents<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> feels like something more than that, as it\u2019s a strong release that captures true artists making music on their own terms &#8212; as the pair criss-cross genres and tones as if they were gingerly walking through a park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Music is such a wonderful art form,\u201d said <\/span><b>Agency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a statement. \u201cWe are honored to be able to create art, express ourselves, and share with the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qp5e8mlDQBs?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EP begins with \u201c<\/span><b>Darkness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d which features a catchy and fun melody with a pleasant goodtime tone. It also features a clever arrangement that keeps the listener rightfully engaged throughout, as it dips and dives into various styles, but still keeping its cohesive vibe. The track \u201c<\/span><b>Moonlight<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d is an immersive and powerful one that has a great sense of loss and raw emotion as the song breaks down with orchestral strings and pure sadness and longing. It also has a sharp and palpable voice that speaks to its haunting, yet pleasing, sound and tone.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/35R63rMKc1k?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><b>Daylight<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d takes a bar structure that feels like popular \u201cmumble\u201d hip-hop with a tuneful and flowing melody. It\u2019s a wonderful hybrid of hip-hop and R&amp;B that feels like something from <\/span><b>Frank Ocean<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Migos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It\u2019s a very strong song, while \u201c<\/span><b>Is There Some Other Version of My Story?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d is a deep interlude about finding peace and solace during times of uncertainty. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EP ends with \u201c<\/span><b>Nothing Easy About Me<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d which is an exceptional way to finish <\/span><b><i>Exponents<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> off. It\u2019s half hip-hop(-ish) and R&amp;B(-ish) that really expresses the themes with brilliant tones and textures, as it reinvents itself throughout. The track is yet another banger from a release that\u2019s already considerably strong.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I can\u2019t express how much <\/span><b>Agency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> just drips with talent and soul. They show off so much vibrant musical ability from the first bar to the last. I mean, even the album cover brings something to the table as good way to link non-visual music to visual art.
