His new EP <\/span><b><i>Black Magic<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has a keen sense of language and wordplay that makes him unique in the genre. <\/span><b>N.ave<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also has a worthwhile political and social point-of-view that seems to be lacking in today\u2019s popular hip-hop, aside from artists like <\/span><b>Kendrick Lamar<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, of course. Nevertheless, <\/span><b>N.ave<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has a way with words and production and it really shows with the new EP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFor the people listening: I hope you enjoy. I put everything into my work,\u201d said <\/span><b>N.ave<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a statement. \u201c&#8217;Black Magic&#8217; highlights that people are not who they are. The songs show how people change and how I change to accomplish goals.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The release begins with \u201c<\/span><b>Dead Roses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d which has a great flow and lyrically clever and wit with a sweet hook from singer <\/span><b>T. Nayah<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>N.ave<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has a wonderful sense of retro hip-hop from the mid-2000s, like something akin to early <\/span><b>Kanye West<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>Lupe Fiasco<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><b>Gravity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d features a steady beat that will keep you bobbing your head throughout with <\/span><b>N.ave\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> knack for playful and meaningful style, lyrics, and production value, especially in the way it ends. The track also features rapper <\/span><b>IDK<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who is a bit rough around the edges, but it lends to its charm, as he almost seems he could fit in with <\/span><b>The Pharcyde<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as their fifth member.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kPsvk5mvk44?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><b>N.ave<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> almost changes hip-hop styles in \u201c<\/span><b>Dosumdiffrint<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d which has an interesting hybrid of early 80s New Wave with today\u2019s modern \u201cmumble\u201d rap sound like <\/span><b>Migos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>Lil\u2019 Pump<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but more thoughtful and witty. Not many hip-hop recording artists are that versatile with a clean production by <\/span><b>NOSHADOWBEATS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EP ends with the track \u201c<\/span><b>Black Magic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><b>City of Dreams<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">),\u201d which is smart and provocative, as a statement of intent from <\/span><b>N.ave<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a rapper and producer. The track also features clean layers that will keep a listener on their toes as it unfolds and opens minds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over, the <\/span><b><i>Black Magic<\/i><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a fine display of <\/span><b>N.ave\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> skill on the page, in the recording booth, and behind a sound board. He\u2019s a true talent with a skillful flow and an ear for style and layers.
