He\u2019s like <\/span><b>Beck<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but far stranger, Gothic, and more Scandinavian.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI want to make people dance and to make younger people curious to check out more of the wonderful treasures that are to be found in Norwegian folk music and folk dance,\u201d said <\/span><b>Chris Auman<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A.K.A. <\/span><b>Metaspion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a statement. \u201cThe music is still relevant&#8230; \u00a0I want to bring those vibes and that energy into the electronic music today and combine it with crazy new sounds.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The album <\/span><b><i>Folktronika Schmolkfonika<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> begins with \u201c<\/span><b>Heist<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d is a sharp way to begin an album with a funky groove and fun-on-the-dance-floor sensibilities. The following track \u201c<\/span><b>Not Everything Is Terrible<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d is feels weighty with deep and soul melody with a thumping beat and wonderful breaks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The track \u201c<\/span><b>Old Rules Don&#8217;t Apply<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d is a real driver with excellent build up to a neat-o groove and a clean production, while \u201c<\/span><b>Tveitaaen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d expertly combines Scandinavian folk music with inventive house. It\u2019s a strong track that perfectly encapsulates the music of <\/span><b>Metaspion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The album ends with the track \u201c<\/span><b>Testamente<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d which contains the dark and haunting notes with spooky and almost alien Scandinavian folk music through the lense of the macabre. It\u2019s a fitting way to end <\/span><b><i>Folktronika Schmolkfonika<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overall, the album from <\/span><b>Metaspion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is truly a bizarre piece of work, and I mean that in a good way. The Norwegian recording artist has a knack and ear for mixing two genres that have no business combining together.
