The company plans to release the movie in theaters this fall, after it premiered at this year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2018\/07\/22\/sxsw-2018-interview-timur-bekmambetov-talks-profile-and-unfriended-dark-web-exclusive\/\">SXSW<\/a> Film Festival, and has just been announced as part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2017\/09\/05\/2017-toronto-international-film-festival-interview-david-turpin-lodgers-exclusive\/\">Toronto International Film Festival<\/a> in September.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Galveston&#8217; is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by &#8216;True Detective&#8217; creator Nic Pizzolatto. The movie was directed by M\u00e9lanie Laurent (&#8216;Breathe&#8217;), and written by Jim Hammett. The drama stars Ben Foster (&#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2016\/08\/11\/interview-gil-birmingham-talks-hell-or-high-water-exclusive\/\">Hell or High Water<\/a>&#8216;), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2018\/05\/24\/2018-tribeca-film-festival-interview-haifaa-al-mansour-douglas-booth-mary-shelley-exclusive\/\">Elle Fanning<\/a> (&#8216;The Beguiled&#8217;), Lili Reinhart (&#8216;Riverdale&#8217;) and Beau Bridges (&#8216;Homeland&#8217;). Tyler Davidson (&#8216;Take Shelter&#8217;) produced the movie, with his company Low Spark Films providing sole financing and production services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Elle Fanning and Ben Foster deliver powerful performances in this provoking drama,&#8221; said Mark Ward, the Chief Acquisitions Officer for RLJE Films.  &#8220;Their chemistry captures audiences on a gripping, emotional ride.  We are so proud to bring this film to the big screen.&#8221; Ward and Jess De Leo from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2018\/05\/05\/summer-2018-film-preview\/\">RLJE<\/a> negotiated the deal with Endeavor Content and Cinetic, on behalf of the filmmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Set in the title Texas city, &#8216;Galveston&#8217; follows Roy (Foster), a heavy-drinking criminal enforcer and mob hit man whose boss set him up in a double-cross scheme. After killing his would-be assassins before they could kill him, Roy discovers Rocky (Fanning), a young woman being held captive, and reluctantly takes her with him on his escape.
