BrooklynONE productions (bkONE) is set to present additional performances of its new production of ‘Godspell,’ following its acclaimed run earlier this summer and in anticipation of its upcoming move Off-Broadway. The added shows will begin next Friday, September 7.<\/p>\n

The production is being helmed by bkONE founder and artistic director, Anthony Marino. It sets the story in a Lutheran Church that’s reimagined as an abandoned 1990s-era New York City punk club, and features musical performances by punk band The Government.<\/p>\n

Original ‘Godspell’ cast member Peggy Gordon will appear at a talkback with the audience following the 2pm performance on Saturday, September 8. The new edition of the play features such actors as Valerie Cirillo, Joanna Connolly, Dana DiAngelo, Danielle Giacino Papaleo, Erech Holder-Hetmeyer, Anthony Marino, Brandon Thomas Martin, John Panepinto, Georgie Raiola, Miguel A. Sierra, Jannicke Steadman-Charles and Tyler VanTassel.<\/p>\n

The new production’s choreography was created by Valerie Cirillo, and Brendan Rorke serves as the music director. ‘Godspell’ is composed by Stephen Schwartz, with a book adapted from the ‘Gospel of Matthew’ by John-Michael Tebelak.<\/p>\n

Performances of the show will be held on Friday, September 7 at 8pm, Saturday, September 8 at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday, September 9 at 4pm. All seats are $20, and tickets may be purchased by visiting bkONE’s official website<\/a>.
