While the conflicts they have contended with are distinctly unique, these difficult experiences bring people from all backgrounds together. Singer Matt Massey is powerfully exploring that vital journey of coping with the obstacles that have crafted people into who they are today in his new rock single, ‘Built.’ The hard-edged and intense song, which powerfully explores the authentic connections that form as a result of personal strife, is featured on the musician’s new solo debut album, ‘Dear Today.’<\/p>\n

‘Built’ enthrallingly emphasizes Massey’s emergence as an indie rock solo artist, who has successfully broken free from traditional band situations, and embraced his deeper artistry. In addition to singing on the gritty, rock-infused track, the Ft. Worth based singer further proved his true musical background by also playing the guitar, bass and drums. His biggest musical influences, including Nirvana, Tom Petty and Collective Soul, clearly shine through on Massey’s powerful blend of vocals and instrumentation. His classic rock vocals provide him with the potential to share his relatable struggle to put all of the broken pieces of his past back together, and build a better version of himself.<\/p>\n
