Ron DeSantis (R-FL) by almost 20 points in a hypothetical 2024 Republican primary matchup, according to a poll. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/n9VX01HOb2\">https:\/\/t.co\/n9VX01HOb2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1603413216553566209?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 15, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The story has been covered by nearly every left leaning media site, including The Hill, ABC, The National Review and most recently by CBS17. The poll that keeps being referred to in many of these articles is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/polling-institute\/documents\/monmouthpoll_us_121622.pdf\/\">poll taken by Monmouth University<\/a> and published on December 8th, 2024.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/3ABF5DFE-B04A-49B5-ADC8-EC925F82A37F.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-197737\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/3ABF5DFE-B04A-49B5-ADC8-EC925F82A37F.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1179\" height=\"1317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/3ABF5DFE-B04A-49B5-ADC8-EC925F82A37F.jpeg 1179w, https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/3ABF5DFE-B04A-49B5-ADC8-EC925F82A37F-269x300.jpeg 269w, https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/3ABF5DFE-B04A-49B5-ADC8-EC925F82A37F-768x858.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/3ABF5DFE-B04A-49B5-ADC8-EC925F82A37F-917x1024.jpeg 917w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1179px) 100vw, 1179px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s dive in the numbers. The poll, taken by the university included only 563 registered voters. They were contacted at random via telephone by a live interviewer. Only 48% identified themselves \u201cStrong Republican\u201d, 21% labeled \u201cRepublican, not strong\u201d and 31% \u201cIndependent who lean Republican\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This reporting is misleading at best. In a quick, but buried search we were able to find a recent 2024 Republican Primary polling average that shows Donald Trump clearly in the lead.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/1EDCF18C-B71A-4011-8965-69FD2002A9B3.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-197738\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/1EDCF18C-B71A-4011-8965-69FD2002A9B3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1463\" height=\"2048\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/1EDCF18C-B71A-4011-8965-69FD2002A9B3.jpeg 1463w, https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/1EDCF18C-B71A-4011-8965-69FD2002A9B3-214x300.jpeg 214w, https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/1EDCF18C-B71A-4011-8965-69FD2002A9B3-768x1075.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/1EDCF18C-B71A-4011-8965-69FD2002A9B3-732x1024.jpeg 732w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1463px) 100vw, 1463px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One recent poll from Harris\/Harvard posted InteractivePolls shows Donald Trump leading by 23%.
