The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Owen Wilson has signed on to voice the rascally Great Dane “Marmaduke” for Fox’s adaptation of the long-running newspaper comic strip. <\/p>\n
The film will follow a family named the Winslows who move from Kansas to Orange County, and their giant slobbering dog Marmaduke, who causes chaos wherever he goes.<\/p>\n
The strip was created in 1954 by Brad Anderson about a giant Great Dane dog and his misadventures causing trouble throughout the neighborhood.<\/p>\n
Judy Greer, Lee Pace and William H. Macy are cast in the film as humans, while Fergie, Emma Stone, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Steve Coogan, Damon Wayans, Marlon Wayans will be supplying voices for the CGI animal cast.<\/p>\n
Tom Dey is directing, and John Davis is producing the family comedy, which has a <\/p>\n
“Marmaduke” is set for a tentative June 2010 release.<\/p>\n
