The production company behind “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, Summit Entertainment is developing “Vlad”, an action-oriented take on the early years of the infamous real-life Dracula, Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia.<\/p>\n
Also known as Vlad The Impaler, he ruled from 1456 to 1462 and was reknowned for his brutality against the Ottoman Empire as well as the local nobles who had plotted against him before he came to power. Vlad’s bloody legend was the basis of author Bram Stoker’s story “Dracula”.<\/p>\n
Brad Pitt is attached to the project, and will be producing with Ded Gardner through Plan B Entertainment.<\/p>\n
Charlie Hunnam wrote the script, and Summit is in negotiations with Anthony Mandler to direct the film.<\/p>\n
