In another video posted yesterday, <strong>Ross <\/strong>cryptically stated he was <strong>&#8220;bigger than Justin Beiber.&#8221;<\/strong> Many critics have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/entertainment\/news\/diddy-urges-justin-bieber-to-keep-quiet-about-their-strange-friendship-in-unearthed-clip\/ar-AA1RSTUs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">remarked<\/a> that <strong>Beiber appeared to be a victim of Combs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rick Ross&#8217; Criminal Record: Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and more.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This is not Ross&#8217; first felony.<\/strong> In <strong>June 2015<\/strong>, Fayette County, Georgia, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thecitizen.com\/2015\/06\/24\/rapper-rick-ross-arrested-kidnapping-and-aggravated-assault\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">deputies arrested Ross<\/a> and his bodyguard on kidnapping and aggravated assault charges after a groundskeeper at his estate said Ross pistol-whipped him<\/strong>. Ross pleaded no contest to aggravated assault in <strong>April 2017<\/strong> and took time served, five years&#8217; probation and a $10,000 fine. In <strong>January 2013, someone shot at his car<\/strong> on his birthday in Fort Lauderdale. From December 1995 to June 1997 he was a <strong>corrections officer at the South Florida Reception Center<\/strong>. He denied it until the paperwork made denial impossible. That rule is why <strong>Ross can rap about choking rivals <\/strong>and never hear it read to a jury in a domestic violence case. Lyrics get in when they describe the crime charged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Broward County prosecutors<\/strong> assembled &#8220;song after song&#8221; against <strong>YNW Melly<\/strong> after his 2023 murder mistrial because the songs described shootings like the ones he was accused of. A Fulton County judge let 17 sets of Young Thug&#8217;s lyrics into the YSL racketeering trial on the condition that the state tie each one to the conspiracy. California banned the practice outright in 2022, and the federal <strong>RAP Act<\/strong>, reintroduced in July 2025, would do the same in federal court. Florida has no such statute. So the question for the state attorney is narrow. If Ross has recorded a verse about an August night, a ponytail and a wall, it is evidence. If he has only recorded a thousand verses about being dangerous, it is a career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Company Rick Ross Keeps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ross&#8217;s closest public association in the business is Sean Combs.<\/strong> The two have recorded together, toured together, and, in a clip that still circulates,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/YAhwTmK4p4c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">washed cars together<\/a>. When Combs&#8217; defense wanted to show a jury that a witness enjoyed her time around him, it played a <strong>Rick Ross video with her in the background. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Days before the trial, Combs hired <strong>Xavier Donaldson<\/strong>, the <strong>lawyer who had kept Ross out of prison in Georgia. Combs <\/strong>is now in the special housing unit at <strong>Fort Dix<\/strong>, where we reported he had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2026\/09\/29\/diddy-has-guards-smuggling-phones-and-cognac-inmates-are-running-the-asylum-threatning-witnesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guards carrying in cognac and a contraband phone<\/a>, and where his own civil lawyers say\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2026\/09\/26\/no-pay-no-files-deadbeat-diddy-cant-get-his-files-his-attorneys-lien-cases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he has stopped paying them<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third man in the circle is <strong>Ray J<\/strong>. <strong>Ross\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=na4YBsUNSYo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">walked Combs and Ray J through his Georgia mansion<\/a>\u00a0on camera, the same estate where the groundskeeper alleged he was <strong>pistol-whipped<\/strong> <strong>by Ross<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/na4YBsUNSYo?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ray J <\/strong>has spent the last year as Combs&#8217; loudest defender outside the courtroom. He told <strong>Piers Morgan &#8220;there&#8217;s nothing here&#8221;<\/strong> and <strong>&#8220;Free Diddy.&#8221;<\/strong> He said he attended <strong>&#8220;a lot of parties with Diddy and there was never a freak-off,&#8221;<\/strong> then explained on a livestream that he was never invited to one because &#8220;I&#8217;m ugly.&#8221; He later apologized for remarks about the case and said he took &#8220;full accountability.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ray J<\/strong> is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2025\/10\/14\/alex-spiros-controversial-connections-to-corey-gamble-diddy-jay-z-and-kanye-west\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">embattled<\/a> against <strong>Kris Jenner<\/strong> and <strong>Kim Kardashian<\/strong> in civil court, facing off with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2026\/09\/16\/alex-spiro-sends-another-warning-letter-elon-musk-and-his-legal-fixer-linked-to-jeffrey-epstein\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">controversial Roc Nation attorney<\/a>, <strong>Alex Spiro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Separately, <strong>Ray J<\/strong> has been repeatedly accused of being involved in the <strong>murder of Whitney Houston<\/strong>. A prominent private investigator revealed that his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/whitney-houston-was-murdered-by-drug-dealers-private-investigator-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">investigation<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/myhoustonmajic.com\/2889347\/whitney-houston-murdered\/\">revealed<\/a> that <strong>Houston&#8217;s death was indeed a murder. Ray J<\/strong> has denied any role and has stated that he was in San Diego at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Three men, one circle<\/strong>: a<strong> convicted sex offender serving 50 months<\/strong>, a rapper who built a fortune <strong>portraying a drug lord<\/strong> and <strong>now faces a strangulation charge<\/strong>, and a singer whose contribution to the record is that he was not attractive enough to see what happened behind the door. We have written about <strong>the lawyers who move between these cases,<\/strong> including the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2025\/04\/30\/fat-joe-repped-by-joe-tacopina-in-lawsuit-against-tyrone-blackburn-proxy-war-by-diddy-jay-z\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proxy suits<\/a>\u00a0that follow anyone who sues <strong>Combs&#8217; friends.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Battery By Strangulation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Battery by strangulation is a third-degree felony in Florida, punishable by up to five years. <\/strong>Prosecutors created the charge in 2007 because choking is the single strongest predictor that a <strong>domestic abuser will later kill his partner<\/strong>. The state does not need the woman to press charges. It needs her statement, her photographs and whatever else the police gathered in the two days between her report and his surrender. <strong>Ross has a record, a probation history, and a judge who has already told him on the record that she does not care who he is.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He will be in <strong>Dubai <\/strong>and <strong>Paris<\/strong>, he says. The stay-away order says nothing about that.
