Hammer Films, the movie arm of Exclusive Media Group, has acquired the rights to create a big-screen adaptation of author Susan Hill’s suspense thriller novel “The Woman in Black.”<\/p>\n
British director James Watkins (“Eden Lake”) is attached to direct a script being written by Jane Goldman (“Kick-Ass,” “Stardust”). Hammer Films will be co-producing the project alongside Talisman Films. Hammer’s Nigel Sinclair and Guy East are executive producers alongside Roy Lee and Doug Davison of. Vertigo Entertainment.<\/p>\n
The story is about a young lawyer who is ordered to travel to a remote country village in order to deal with the estate of a client. While there he catches glimpses of a mysterious woman dressed entirely in black, which leads to him uncovering several tragic secrets.<\/p>\n
Exclusive Film Distribution is handling worldwide distribution, with Newmarket Films distributing in the US. Hammer is also producing the English-language remake of the critically-acclaimed Swedish vampire film “Let The Right One In”, titled “Let Me In”.<\/p>\n
