Summit Entertainment has acquired the North American distribution rights to the Mandate comedy formerly titled “I’m With Cancer,” which is slated to start shooting later this month in Vancouver.<\/p>\n
The studio also announced that Bryce Dallas Howard (“Terminator: Salvation”) has joined the project’s cast, alongside James McAvoy, Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse). Jonathan Levine will be directing the film, based on a script by Will Reiser.<\/p>\n
McAvoy will be playing a man who learns that he has cancer and ends up successfully battling the disease over several years. The character is based on the real-life experiences of screenwriter Reiser, who won his own fight with cancer in his mid-20s.<\/p>\n
