‘Friday Night Lights’ actor Scott Porter has revealed to Parade magazine that he regrets not auditioning for the hit FOX show ‘Glee.’ During the time of auditions, the 30-year-old felt it was time to move on from high school roles, but now says that it was a stupid move to turn roles based on one characteristic.<\/p>\n

Porter, who is best known for his role as high school football player Jason Street on the critically acclaimed NBC drama based on the movie and book, left ‘Friday Night Lights’ in 2008. While he also played a high school senior in the remake of ‘Prom Night’ that same year, he told Parade that afterwards he thought he was too old to be playing a student anymore.<\/p>\n

\u201c…Then it (the show) came out and (creator) Ryan Murphy was like, ‘We’ve got a bunch of adults playing kids, but we don’t care, that’s our show.’…So I was like, ‘Dang, I should have gone for it,'” Porter also said.<\/p>\n

However, Porter added that he is now trying to get a cameo on the show. “Now I’m, like, at the back door knocking, ‘Can I please come in and play on the Glee set because I beatbox, I sing, I dance,'” he said. “If music’s gonna be involved, that’s my thing. I got my start in the off-Broadway cast of Altar Boyz, so I’m like pitching ideas daily to Glee.”<\/p>\n

Porter was last seen on the big screen in a supporting role in the number one movie ‘Dear John.’ He is also slated to guest star in upcoming episodes of ‘Gossip Girl’ and Syfy’s ‘Caprica.’<\/p>\n
