Have you seen the clip from Vincenzo Natali’s Splice<\/em>? It’s freaky. Actually, maybe a little too strange, but for some reason, it works. Apparently Warner Bros. thinks so too. After the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, the studio nabbed distribution rights and now has reportedly settled on a release date, June 4th.<\/p>\n

With Get Him to the Greek<\/em>, Killers<\/em>, Marmaduke<\/em> and Ondine<\/em> all hitting theaters the same day, it seems as though Warner Bros. is throwing Splice<\/em> to the wolves. However, it’s rather strategically placed. Not one of those films is a horror movie. In fact, all four either fall into the comedy or drama genre leaving those seeking something terrifyingly intriguing only one option, Splice<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The film stars Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley as a pair of scientists who splice DNA of different animals to create hybrid creatures. When they decide to spice things up by throwing human DNA into the mix, they end up with Dren. What starts out as a risky yet promising experiment with the potential to yield major medical benefits, soon morphs out of control and ultimately into their worst nightmare.<\/p>\n
