Recipe for Corned Beef and Cabbage:<\/p>\n
Ingredients:<\/p>\n
3 pounds corned beef brisket
\n10 small red potatoes
\n5 carrots, peeled and julienne
\n1 large head of cabbage, cut into wedges<\/p>\n
Directions:<\/p>\n
1. Place corned beef in large pot and cover with water. Add the spice packet to the corned beef. Cover pot and bring to a boil, then reduce. Simmer approximately 50 minutes per pound or until corned beef is tender.<\/p>\n
2. Add whole potatoes and carrots, and cook until the vegetables are nearly tender. Add cabbage and cook for 15 more minutes more. Remove meat and let rest 15 minutes.<\/p>\n
3. Place vegetables in a covered bowl. Add as much broth (cooking liquid reserved in the large pot) as you want. Slice meat across the grain and serve.<\/p>\n
