The group are led by former police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of somewhere safe.  Bernthal is slated to play Grimes&#8217; partner and friend Shane.<\/p>\n<p>Frank Darabont wrote the adaptation of the Image Comics title, and will also direct the TV pilot.
