Following in the footsteps of its change in the voting format for the Video Music Awards (VMAs), MTV has decided to allow viewers to choose the nominees for its upcoming Movie Awards ceremony. The music network announced via a press release on March 29 that viewers can log onto MovieAwards.MTV.com<\/a> through 6p.m. ET on April 9th to decide the nominees in the show’s 13 categories.<\/p>\n

The winners for the 19th annual ceremony will be decided from the final list of nominees between May 11th and June 5th. The winners will be announced during the live show on Sunday, June 6th at 9pm ET\/8pm C from the Gibson Ampitheatre in Universal, CA.<\/p>\n

The voting began at 12pm ET\/9am PT on March 29th in such returning fan favorite categories as Best Kiss, Best Fight and Best Comedic Performance. There will also be new categories, including Best Ass-Kicking Star, Best Scared-Ass S**t Performance and Global Superstar, for which fans worldwide can vote via their local MTV website. The show is set to air in 161 countries.<\/p>\n

Among those on the nominee list for Best Kiss are: Alice Eve and Jay Baruchel for ‘She’s Out of My League;’ Amanda Seyfried and Megan Fox for ‘Jennifer’s Body;’ Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning for ‘The Runaways;’ and Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson for ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon.’<\/p>\n

For Best Fight, viewers can choose, among others, from: Channing Tatum vs. Brian J. White for ‘Fighting;’ Beyonc\u00e9 Knowles vs. Ali Larter for ‘Obsessed;’ Megan Fox vs. Amanda Seyfried for ‘Jennifer’s Body;’ and Sienna Miller vs. Rachel Nichols for ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.’<\/p>\n

The Best Comedic Performance nominees include: Betty White for ‘The Proposal;’ Adam Sandler for ‘Funny People;’ and Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms for ‘The Hangover.’<\/p>\n
