We&#8217;ll keep an eye out for more casting updates.<\/p>\n<p>Just the other day we <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2010\/04\/18\/zooey-deschanel-may-be-the-enchantress-of-numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\">told<\/a> you about Zooey Deschanel&#8217;s interest in starring in <em>The Enchantress Of Numbers<\/em> and now, not only does it look like she made it official, but so have two other actors, Billy Crudup and Toby Jones. The news comes in the form of an update by <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/prodweek\/status\/12522167764\" target=\"_blank\">Production Weekly<\/a> via Twitter and, in addition to the cast, notes that Shanee Edwards is the woman responsible for the script.<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who missed our last entry, The Enchantress of Numbers is Ada Lovelace, also recognized as the world&#8217;s first computer programmer. Clearly Deschanel is leading as the Countess of Lovelace, but it isn&#8217;t quite clear who her new co-stars will portray. Of course there&#8217;s the man who made Lovelace a countess, 1st Earl of Lovelace, but there&#8217;s also a huge list of non-romantic options like Charles Dickens and Sir Charles Wheatstone. The sure thing is probably Charles Babbage, the man who gave the Countess her nickname. Lovelace was one of few who could wholly understand Babbage&#8217;s Analytical Engine. She came up with a program for the machine, which is widely recognized as the first algorithm intended for processing.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it&#8217;s just because Crudup is so damn good looking and Jones is, well not, but I&#8217;d say Jones fits the role of Babbage quite well. As for Edwards&#8217; involvement, there isn&#8217;t really much to go on. Her writing resume only includes <em>Rumbero<\/em> and <em>Til Parole Do Us Part<\/em>, neither of which I&#8217;ve heard of. Apparently <em>Enchantress<\/em> is a piece she&#8217;s had in her possession for quite a while having won a screenwriting grant at UCLA for it back in 2005.
