Hogwarts’ smartest student and Poseidon’s son are joining forces for a surprisingly ordinary movie. Logan Lerman will forgo his power to manipulate water and Emma Watson will ditch her spells to star in the coming-of-age indie The Perks of Being a Wallflower<\/em>. Stephen Chbosky is a triple threat on this project having written the book it’s based on, penned the script and assuming directorial duties.<\/p>\n

\n

As narrated by a timid teen named Charlie, the book is comprised of a series of letters written to an anonymous person. They detail the boy’s exploits and explore everything from his socially defunct start in high school to dabbling in sex and drugs. The Variety<\/a> article doesn\u2019t mention role assignments, but it\u2019s safe to say that Lerman will assume the role of this awkward adolescent.<\/p>\n

\n

As for Watson, if I remember correctly, there are two ways she can go, Sam or Mary Elizabeth. Sam is one of two seniors at school who befriend Charlie that he ultimately develops a crush on and Mary Elizabeth is the one he ends up dating, even though his feelings for Sam are stronger. Either way, this film is a big deal for Watson. Unlike her Harry Potter<\/em> costars, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, she hasn\u2019t dabbled in film beyond Hogwarts; well, minus voicing Princess Pea in The Tale of Despereaux<\/em>. But even with just sticking with one character throughout the years, Watson has proved to be quite a talented actress. Plus, if she\u2019s got to lose her leading man, Radcliffe, Lerman is an excellent replacement. (Pun intended.)<\/p>\n
