After The Last Airbender<\/span> we’re in need of a good CGI-infused fantasy film and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice<\/span> is really looking like it could be just that. Between the trailers, clips and behind the scenes featurettes, there’s a nice chunk of material available on the web and it’s all quite impressive. Now we\u2019re adding another clip to the batch and a five-minute one at that.<\/p>\n

\n

The footage shows a young Dave Stutler’s (Jake Cherry) first encounter with the sorcerer Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage). When an unusual ring takes a liking to the boy, Balthazar knows Dave has the power to grow up to be a great sorcerer himself. The problem is, when Balthazar turns his back, Dave accidentally unleashes Balthazar’s nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina).<\/p>\n

\n

The mere fact that the action in this scene can distract me from Cage\u2019s nauseating appearance certainly reflects the clip\u2019s excellence, but I\u2019m still partial to the Fantasia<\/span> mop sequence. You can see that, this new 5-minute clip as well as a handful of other videos in HD over at Yahoo! Movies<\/a>.<\/p>\n
