Diane Kruger has taken over French actress Eva Green’s role of Marie Antoinette in the upcoming film adaptation of the Chantal Thomas novel Farewell, My Queen<\/em>, Cinemablend.com is reporting. The movie, which is set to be directed by Benoit Jacquot and will also star Gerard Depardieu, Virginie Ledoyen and Lea Seydoux, will focus on the last days of the French Revolution. The film is expected to begin shooting in the spring.<\/p>\n

‘Farewell, My Queen’ was supposed to be Green’s grand return to the film world after she won a BAFTA award for 2006’s ‘Casino Royale,’ in which she played Bond girl Vesper Lynd. The two main films she’s shoot since the Bond film, ‘Cracks’ and ‘Womb,’ have yet to be released.<\/p>\n

Green’s next big project will be in Starz’s original television series, ‘Camelot,’ which is set to premiere on April 1, 2011. The series will be based on the Arthurian legend.<\/p>\n
