Summit Entertainment has already picked up the film rights to author Erin Morgenstern’s first novel Night Circus<\/em>, even though the book won’t be published until September, Comingsoon.net is reporting. The independent studio, which rose to fame after it released ‘Twilight’ in 2008, is hoping to repeat that series’ success with the new romantic novel.<\/p>\n

Night Circus<\/em> is set at the turn of the 19th century, and tells the love story of two young magicians who are expected to follow in their illusionist fathers’ footsteps and be enemies. However, they don’t continue their fathers’ long-standing rivalry, and instead fall in love. The fates of everyone involved in the circus, including performers and the patrons, are dependent on whether the two continue the competition or instead listen to their hearts.<\/p>\n

Summit’s President of Production, Erik Feig, and creative executive Jeyun Chois will oversee the film adaptation. Richard Pine, Morgenstern’s publishing agent, is also on board to executive produce the movie. Feig was able to secure the film rights after the novel generated buzz at last year’s Frankfurt Book Fair. To capitalize on that praise, Summit is hoping to start scouting talent later this month.<\/p>\n
