Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on to appear in one of her first major roles since having her daughter, Charlotte Prinze,\u00a0in September 2009, Vulture is reporting.\u00a0CBS has\u00a0greenlit a new pilot starring the\u00a0former ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ actress\u00a0called ‘Ringer.’<\/p>\n

The new series is an hour-long thriller, and will\u00a0star Gellar in two roles. She first plays a woman\u00a0who is on the run from the mob. In order to escape from\u00a0her enemies, she\u00a0assumes the life of her wealthy twin sister. But she soon finds out that her sister has a bounty on her head as well.<\/p>\n

Gellar will also co-executive produce the series, which is being produced by ABC Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. The show is being scripted by ‘Supernatural’ writers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder.<\/p>\n
