According to a statement by director Zack Snyder released in a Warner Brothers press release over the weekend, stated, &#8220;In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen&#8230;I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As stated above, Cavill, originally from Jersey, Channel Islands, is most widely known for his role as Charles Brandon on &#8220;The Tudors.&#8221; Some movies that are listed in his resume include &#8220;Stardust&#8221;, &#8220;Tristan + Isolde&#8221;, and &#8220;The Count of Monte Cristo.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Superman reboot is supposed to bring grit and real-world vulnerability to the character. David S. Goyer is over the screenplay, which is based on a story by him and Christopher Nolan.
