Former ‘That ’70’s Show’ star Laura Prepon has signed on to portray controversial comedienne Chelsea Handler in the new NBC series ‘Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea,’ http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/<\/a> is reporting. The show will be a multi-camera comedy, and will be based on Handler’s autobiographical book of the same name. The book discusses the E! late-night talk show host’s life in her 20s.<\/p>\n

‘Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea’ will be written and executive produced by Dottie Zicklin, the co-creator of ‘Dharma & Greg.’ Handler is also on board to executive produce the series. The show, which is being produced by Warner Bros. TV and Werner Entertainment, will follow lead character Chelsea Hanson, played by Prepon, who is a single, opinionated cocktail waitress.<\/p>\n

The comedy will mark Prepon’s return as a television series regular after she starred on the ABC drama ‘October Road,’ which ended in 2008 after two seasons. Since that show ended, she has guest-starred on several other series, including ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ ‘Medium’ and ‘House.’<\/p>\n
