Who’s ready for another found footage movie? Well, whether you’re itching for one or not, Dimension Films is sending Apollo 18<\/em> our way on April 22nd<\/sup>. The film claims to reveal the reason why “we never went back,”purporting that Apollo 17 was not the final manned mission to the moon and the government arranged a top-secret mission just a year later, Apollo 18. Upon arriving, everything goes to plan, but soon the pair of astronauts discovers they have company.<\/p>\n \n At this point, the whole found footage technique feels a little overdone, however, most folks, including myself, just can’t get enough. Most recently, Paranormal Activity 2<\/em> made a killing, earning $173.5 million worldwide on a measly $3 million budget. Made for just $5 million, even if Apollo 18<\/em> earns a fraction of PA2<\/em>\u2019s intake, it\u2019ll still be a winner and considering it\u2019s only up against the documentary African Cats<\/em>, Tyler Perry\u2019s next production, the drama Water for Elephants<\/em> and the comedy Born to Be a Star<\/em>, it\u2019s entirely in the clear to nab moviegoers looking for a good scare.<\/p>\n \n Dimension Films just released the film\u2019s first trailer and while it does suggest director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego is basically following in the footsteps of other shaky cam filmmakers, it\u2019s really impossible not to be the least bit curious. Apparently originality has nothing on an effective film industry parlor trick. Check out the trailer for yourself below.<\/p>\n
