The famed actor is in the middle of talks to possibly be in Bryan Singer&#8217;s &#8220;Jack the Giant Killer,&#8221; set up under New Line Cinema and Legendary Pictures. He could be joining a cast that already includes Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, Billy Nighy and John Kassir.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jack the Giant Killer&#8221; is a new take on the classic tale, centering on the young farm boy (Hoult) who ends up on a journey where he must save the princess that&#8217;s been captured by a fearsome giant. Now that the creature is holding the girl hostage, the shaky peace between the humans and giants is now in jeopardy.<\/p>\n<p>If cast, McGregor would be playing the leader of the king&#8217;s elite guards who&#8217;s sole task is to defeat the gruesome giants. Currently the role of the princess is up for grabs, but Singer and company have a couple of ladies that could fit the role. Eleanor Tomlinson and Adelaide Kane are the front runners for the part, but no word as to who will win the spot.<\/p>\n<p>Principal photography for &#8220;Jack the Giant Killer&#8221; begins at the end of March.
