For a while, there have been rumors of a possible “Candyland” film (you know, a film about that game about a candy kingdom you used to play as a child). Well, now the film project has a screenwriter. <\/p>\n

According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, the writers for Dreamworks’ “Kung Fu Panda” and “Kung Fu Panda 2”, are now attached to writing the script for “Candyland”. Kevin Lima is attached to direct and overseeing production are Hasbro’s Bennett Schneir and Brian Goldner. Christopher Chase is executive producing. <\/p>\n

The film is aiming to be a live-action epic adventure version of the game, in which the players go through Candyland’s various landmarks, such as Gum Drop Mountain and Candy Cane Forest, and meet characters like Princess Frostine and Gramma Nutt, and battle the evil Lord Licorice in order to save the missing King of Candyland. <\/p>\n

I wonder how this film will play out, because in a way, this film reminds me of what the popular cartoon show “Adventure Time” could possibly look like if it became a movie. <\/p>\n
