Keith Olbermann, the MSNBC anchor who was let go by the network, is calling CurrentTV home now. According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Olbermann’s show will be an updated version of “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” (and yes, it will still be called “Countdown”). <\/p>\n

According to Mark Rosenthal, CEO of Current, said the news\/op-ed show “will combine familiar and popular features with some new elements that we can’t wait to unveil. We’re creating a great platform for Keith’s style, which includes a very sophisticated digital presence for him–that we think will appeal to his very enthusiastic and active following. The show will also appeal to new viewers tuning into Keith for the first time.”<\/p>\n

Olbermann is not only anchor talent for the network; he’s also the network’s chief news officer; the deal for that job had been worked out between Olbermann and former vice president Al Gore, the creator of Current, about 24 hours after he was let go by MSNBC. <\/p>\n

The show will air at 8 p.m., opposite former MSNBC colleague (and like-minded newscaster) Lawrence O’Donnell, the host of “Last Word”. <\/p>\n
