The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) has announced the winners in this year’s competition categories. Several new awards were given this year, including Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay in the narrative competition and Best Editing in the documentary competition.<\/p>\n

Returning awards were also given, including the Best New Director for narrative and documentary films. Awards were also given to the best narrative and documentary shorts.<\/p>\n

“It’s wonderful to…be able to celebrate with all of these gifted filmmakers. We’ve been fortunate that as we have grown we have remained a place that welcomes a diverse range of stories told by compelling and exciting filmmakers,” Jane Rosenthal, the co-founder of the TFF, said.<\/p>\n

Some of the winners include Luisa Tillinger, who won for Best Cinematography in a Narrative Feature Film for her work on ‘Artificial Paradises.’ She received $5,000 and $50,000 in post-production services by Company 3. The Best Screenplay for a Narrative Feature Film was awarded to Jannicke Systad Jabobsen for ‘Turn Me On, Goddammit.’ Jabobsen received $5,000 with the award.<\/p>\n

The Best New Narrative Director was Park Jungbum, who helmed ‘Journals of Musan.’ He received $25,000 and $50,000 for post-production services provided by Company 3.<\/p>\n

The Best Documentary Feature award was awarded to ‘Bombay Beach,’ which was directed by Alma Har’el. The TFF also awarded Har’el with $25,000.<\/p>\n
