Director Michael Collins accepted the award, which honors the year&#8217;s best feature film, and was awarded with a cash prize of $25,000. The announcement was made during the festival&#8217;s wrap party on April 30, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Audiences attending the TFF were able to vote for their favorite movie after attending TFF screenings. Films in the World Narrative Competition, World Documentary Competition, Viewpoints, Spotlight and Cinemania sections were all eligible to be nominated for the award.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Give Up Tomorrow&#8217; was also a TFF Special Jury Mention in the World Documentary Competition. It was well received by audiences and was supported by the Tribeca Film Institute&#8217;s (TFI) Gucci Tribea Documenary Fund.  Collins is also an alumnus of the TFI&#8217;s All Access program.<\/p>\n<p>The movie follows culinary student Paco Larranaga, who was arrested in 1997 when he was 19 years old. He was suspected of kidnapping, raping and murdering two sisters on the island of Cebu in the Philippines.
