May 1, 2011 is a day that will mark the end of Public Enemy Number 1 to America, Osama bin Laden. It’s fitting that this event happened tonight, since May 1 is the destruction day of another hate-filled leader–on May 1, 1945, Adolf Hilter killed himself. <\/p>\n
News broke around 9 p.m. that President Obama would speak on something, but the subject was then unknown. Even though the major news networks hesitated to give speculation on what President Obama would speak about, Twitter was the first to break the news that the speech would be about Osama’s death. <\/p>\n
During and after Obama finished his speech, however, Twitter was ablaze with an outpouring of support for the troops, Obama, and the people who lost their lives on 9\/11 as well as their families:<\/p>\n

News stations have also been showing footage of people celebrating outside the White House and at Ground Zero in New York, singing, shouting, and celebrating the death of bin Laden. <\/p>\n
