Paramount has released a video featuring Linkin Park and their new single “Iridescent”and how it fits in with the score of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”. Mike Shinoda, a member of Linkin Park, and Steve Jablonsky, the composer for “Dark of the Moon”, talk about how the song, as well as the score, reflect the seriousness put into the “Dark of the Moon” plot. <\/p>\n
Jablonsky said because the plot involves the main characters having to save the entire earth this go-round, the music needed to reflect the dire tones of the film and “Iridescent” had that quality. “There’s a seriousness to ‘Iridescent’, a serious emotion, that vibe that makes you think, ‘Oh, something big’s going on here…there’s no fun and games.'”<\/p>\n
According to Shinoda, the fact that the movie is more serious in tone reflects the band’s increasingly stern take on music. <\/p>\n
“The one thing that I do like about this collaboration is that it does tie back to where we’ve been going with the music,” Shinoda said. “Our latest album ‘A Thousand Suns’ has a lot to do with the collision between humanity and technology and what role that plays in our generation.”<\/p>\n
