While the character he would play in the movie hasn&#8217;t being publicly confirmed, the news comes after the &#8216;Thor&#8217; actor tweeted &#8220;having one of the biggest meetings of my professional life today&#8230;meeting a very controversial director for a very controversial part.&#8221; It was initially widely believed that the part Elba was referring to in his tweet was in Quentin Tarantion&#8217;s &#8216;Django Unchained;&#8217; however, that rumor has yet to be confirmed or denied. <\/p>\n<p>Charlie Hunnam has already been cast as the lead in &#8216;Pacific Rim,&#8217; which will follow an alien race attacking Earth on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. In order to defend themselves, humans will create large, advanced robots. Hunnam will play a former pilot who&#8217;s forced to take control of the robots to help defend Earth.<\/p>\n<p>Tarantino finished the script for &#8216;Django Unchained,&#8217; which is being described as a Spaghetti Western, in April 2011. The movie will be a tribute to both Italian filmmaker Sergio Corbucci&#8217;s original &#8216;Django&#8217; and Japanese director Takashi Miike&#8217;s &#8216;Sukiyaki Western Kjango.&#8217; &#8216;Django Unchained&#8217; will follow the lead character, a former slave, who is in league with a man to rescue his wife from a plantation owner.
