We got the Facebook movie, now how about a YouTube one? On July 24th, 2010, more than 80,000 new videos hit YouTube from users hoping to be part of director Kevin Macdonald and executive producer Ridley Scott’s latest project, Life in a Day<\/I>. After sorting through more than 4,500 hours of footage from all over the world, covering an expansive amount of very personal experiences, they ended up with a film THR<\/A> describes as “an experimental project driven by the Internet at its best, where connectivity among the planet’s population has become a reality.” Macdonald himself explained, “I always knew this would say something fascinating about who we are as a species and what we value – but I never realized how emotionally affecting the result would be.”<\/p>\n

In honor of the production\u2019s first anniversary, Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. and National Geographic Entertainment will choose a select amount of theaters to participate in an event during which audiences will have the opportunity to take part in a live interactive segment with the filmmakers after the premiere screening on Sunday, July 24th. Daniel Battsek, a chairman of Cinedigm, further explained, \u201cMany locations will be able to take part in a live experience where they can interact with the filmmakers directly, asking questions and getting unique insights.\u201d<\/p>\n

The team has yet to select the final listing of theaters, so, if you\u2019d like Life in a Day<\/I> to come to a town near you, head over to the film\u2019s website<\/A> to vote for your location. But don\u2019t you worry; should your town not be selected, you\u2019ll still have the opportunity to catch Life in a Day<\/I> when it sees a more traditional release on July 29th.<\/p>\n
