If this isn’t great publicity for the new “Spider-Man” reboot, I don’t know what is. According to CinemaBlend<\/a>, professionals in the movie industry were privileged to screen footage from “The Amazing Spider-Man” starring Andrew Garfield. After screening, many in attendance were amazed at the footage. <\/p>\n

The reason for the amazement has to do with the new technology used to film the movie. Director of Photography John Schwartzman used the latest model of the RED digital camera, the RED EPIC. “This is the best looking footage I have ever shot…These are the best images I have ever seen!” Schwartzman told the moderator of forum reduser.net<\/a> before the footage was shown. <\/p>\n

One user of the forum, Jim, summed up the experience succinctly. “I have to say that we were all stunned. Shocked. So incredible. Not like RED ONE MX. Not like anything we had seen from another camera,” he wrote. “Same resolution and feel of our new EPIC reel, but with actors and a story and Schwartzman’s ability to light. The consensus in the room (to a person) was that this looked like film. Like 65mm film. Better. Without any trace of film’s blocky detail in shadows or grain. Jaw dropping. EPIC is performing as it’s name implies it should.”<\/p>\n

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait until July 3, 2012, when the film will finally be released to theaters. What do you think?<\/p>\n
