The film is set to have a wide release January 20, 2012. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Haywire&#8221; was originally going to be released through Lionsgate until Relativity created its own distribution arm. Lionsgate Mandate International, however, will be over foreign rights. <\/p>\n<p>The film marks the film debut of mixed martial arts superstar Gina Carano (&#8220;American Gladiators&#8221;), who also performs her own stunts in the film. &#8220;Haywire&#8221; also stars Channing Tatum (&#8220;GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra&#8221;), Ewan McGregor (&#8220;The Ghost Writer&#8221;), Michael Fassbender (&#8220;X-Men: First Class&#8221;), Antonio Banderas (&#8220;Desperado&#8221;), Bill Paxton (&#8220;Titanic&#8221;), Michael Douglas (&#8220;Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps&#8217;) and Michael Angarano (&#8220;Almost Famous&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are honored to be working with Steven Soderbergh on this project,&#8221; said Tucker Tooley, Relativity&#8217;s president of worldwide production. &#8220;This film is full of amazing action sequences, and with a sophistication only Soderbergh can deliver. We\u2019re very excited to add our picture to Relativity&#8217;s 2012 slate.  We\u2019re looking forward to working with our partners at Lionsgate on the release internationally.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the official synopsis of the film:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In Haywire, an electrifying tale of espionage and betrayal, a female covert ops specialist (Carano), who works in the deadly world of international operatives, strikes back after discovering she&#8217;s been double-crossed by someone close to her in the agency.
