I can’t believe it, but I’ve reached the finish line. Saturday at San Diego Comic Con 2011 has come to a close. While I’m certainly looking forward to a long day\u2019s rest and not having to lug my hefty laptop around everywhere I go, my coverage schedule wrapping up is a bit sad. At least it all ended on a high note.<\/p>\n

Today was another non-stop adventure beginning with Summit Entertainment’s The Darkest Hour<\/I> presentation. <\/a>Unlike the big panels in Hall H, this was far more intimate, Summit inviting a group of reporters to a suite in the Hard Rock Hotel to check out some concept art, stills and the film’s trailer. Cast members Emile Hirsch, Max Minghella and Joel Kinnaman were in the house as producers Timur Bekmambetov and Tom Jacobson walked us through the event.<\/p>\n

With a little time to kill before The Vampire Diaries<\/I> press room, I hit the convention center floor to check out the action and snap a few photos one last time. However, some of my favorite images come from the point during which I made my way from the floor to the press room, the photos of the Game of Thrones<\/I> house banners hanging in the second floor halls.<\/p>\n

The press room was packed with reporters as writer-producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson<\/a> as well as stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Joseph Morgan and Candice Accola made the rounds between about five roundtables and a red carpet press line. Unfortunately there wasn\u2019t enough time to talk to everyone, but I did get a ton of information on what to expect from season three from Plec, Williamson, Dobrev and Somerhalder.<\/p>\n

From there it was a mad dash to the roundtables for Tarsem Singh\u2019s next big production, Immortals<\/I>. Not only was the director present to chat about his 3D swords and sandals epic, but producers Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari and stars Henry Cavill, Luke Evans and Kellan Lutz, too.<\/p>\n

After that is was off to my final event of Comic Con 2011, a screening of Griff the Invisible<\/I> and an interview with director Leon Ford<\/a>. Ford dished on all of the details including coming up with the concept, working with True Blood<\/I> heartthrob Ryan Kwanten and participating in the convention after which, both he and Kwanten introduced the film to a packed house.<\/p>\n

No studio or film specific party tonight; my last night in San Diego was dedicated to all of the fantastic friends I\u2019ve made working in this industry as well as the new ones I made out west. While my coverage collection effort has come to a close, there are still quite a few pieces yet to come, so keep an eye out for much more exclusive content from San Diego Comic Con 2011.<\/p>\n
