If you’re looking for details on a television show’s upcoming season, who better to talk to than the show’s writer-producers? Just before hitting the stage of The Vampire Diaries<\/I> panel, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson spent some time in the pressroom for some more intimate conversations on the show’s third season.<\/p>\n
SPOILER ALERT: These interviews contain MAJOR season one and two spoilers.<\/FONT><\/B><\/p>\n While Plec never crosses over into spoiler territory in terms of the new material, she certainly doesn’t hold back in the least when it came to discussing what to expect come September 15th. She speaks quite a bit about Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) fate, as he’s a young guy struggling with love as well as an immense amount of loss. As for Katherine (Nina Dobrev), Plec assures, \u201cWe haven\u2019t seen the last of her.\u201d Speaking of bad, Plec explained, when Stefan (Paul Wesley) falls off the edge \u201che\u2019s pretty hardcore.\u201d They made a conscious decision to take the character down a \u201cdark road\u201d and they intend to keep him on that path for quite a while. The question is, does that make Damon (Ian Somerhalder) the better brother? \u201cBy no means are they swapping personalities,\u201d but she confirms there is a bit of a role reversal. Plec also notes the growing relationship between Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino). \u201cWe\u2019ll see [if] the friendship lasts and if it stays just friends, \u2018cause it\u2019s kind of inevitable that there\u2019s gonna be some naked action happening there eventually.\u201d<\/p>\n Plec covered quite a bit, but as there wasn\u2019t time to get through everything, our table was lucky to have Williamson sit down right after to fill in some holes. \u201cStefan has taken off with Klaus,\u201d he explains. \u201cThat\u2019s sort of the first chapter of our story,\u201d Damon and Elena\u2019s search for Stefan. She\u2019s attracted to one and in love with the other, so she\u2019s torn and even more so now than ever because of the circumstances. As for the evil portions of the show, Klaus is villain numero uno, but, \u201cwith Klaus comes a whole host of problems and people and characters.\u201d Williamson also goes into depth about the choice to kill off Jenna. Williamson admits part of the decision stemmed from his inability to do much more with the character. \u201cUnless I had turned her into a drunk alcoholic who\u2019s having orgies in the bedroom at night \u2013 I\u2019m not that fascinated by that character.\u201d He experienced a somewhat similar issue with Kayla Ewell who played Vicki Donovan, however, as we find out at the very end of season two, her run on the show isn\u2019t over just yet.<\/p>\n Check it all out for yourself in the video interviews below.<\/p>\n
