Although the action sci-fi won’t hit\u00a0 theaters until May of next year, director Peter Berg has released the first look at his game board adaption ‘Battleship’.\u00a0 Resembling the Transformer’s franchise, but with ships, Berg’s debut trailer is packed with plenty of action on the endless ocean, familiar faces and more.\u00a0 When you first hit play the sneak peek shows lead star Taylor Kitsch toting that signature long hair just before he buzzes it all off to impress the military father, Admiral Shane, <\/strong> of the girl he hopes to marry.\u00a0 Still in his bad boy role, but in uniform, Kitsch is joined by seasoned actor Liam Neeson, True Blood’s Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd, Josh Pence, Rihanna (in her first major film role), Brooklyn Decker, and more.<\/p>\n

Battleship’s screenplay was written by Erich Hoeber of ‘Red’ and Jon Hoeber, who has worked on ‘Whiteout’.\u00a0 Due to hit theaters on May 18th 2012, check out the full synopsis below and watch the trailer.<\/p>\n
