You might recall Rick Sanchez from his days at CNN, where he headlined the afternoon with his own show. You also might recall that he got fired from some comments he made on the radio saying Jewish people run the media and called Jon Stewart a bigot. Now the former news anchor has a new job–as a radio announcer for college football. <\/p>\n

According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> via The Associated Press<\/a>, Sanchez landed a new job at Florida International University as a radio announcer for their football games. He will also act as color analyst on WMCU-1080 AM alongside play-by-play announcer Tony Calatayud. <\/p>\n

Sanchez said in a statement that he was honored when FIU asked him to become a part of the broadcasts. He also said his two sons will be attending FIU in the fall. FIU’s football season will start Sept. 1 against North Texas. <\/p>\n

The irony out of all of this is that the radio, on which he managed to lose his job, has given him a job. <\/p>\n
