Well, according to one study, Mars may have saltwater flowing on its surface. Let the alien theories begin again!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lightyears.blogs.cnn.com\/2011\/08\/04\/mars-may-have-salty-water\/?hpt=hp_t2\" target=\"blank\">CNN<\/a> is reporting that NASA has found evidence for saltwater on Mars. Alfred McEwen, the lead author of the Science journal study concerning the evidence, and his team have found saltwater evidence by using the HiRISE camera on NASA&#8217;s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. McEwen and his team have seen features on the planet&#8217;s surface near the equator or in its southern hemisphere that seem to fade in the winter and return in the spring.  <\/p>\n<p>According to the team, the temperatures at the equator or in the southern hemisphere of Mars are suitable for water. The water is expected to contain salt because a previous study has shown that the planet has a salty surface. The water might also be thicker than our water, even to the point of being syrupy in consistency. <\/p>\n<p>However, McEwen said lab tests are going to be the best indication of whether their findings are true.
