Many buildings, including the Discovery Communications headquarters in Silver Spring, MD, were affected. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/virginia-earthquake-evacuations-226425?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign==?utf-8?B?TWFpbGluZyBEaXNjb3ZlcnkgSGVhZHF1YXJ0ZXJzIEV2YWN1YXRlZCBBZnRlciBFYXJ0aHF1YWtlKDA4LzIzLzIwMTEgMDI6MzM6MzUgUE0p?=&amp;utm_content=\" target=\"blank\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, the headquarters were evacuated when the earthquake hit. &#8220;We evacuated and sent everyone home for a day&#8230;No reports yet of any damage or injuries,&#8221; said a Discovery Communications spokeswoman to The Hollywood Reporter. <\/p>\n<p>Other businesses that evacuated were Comcast&#8217;s headquarters in Philadelphia and Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, New York. &#8220;Out of an abundance of caution, we did allow people to go home,&#8221; said a spokeswoman. She said there didn&#8217;t appear to be any injuries or damages, but they wanted to be cautious and considerate of their employees.
