The TromaDance Film Festival has awarded director Anna Biller its top
\nprize for her feature film VIVA, which premiered at the 2007 festival in
\nPark City, Utah.\u00c2\u00a0 TromaDance Founder Lloyd Kaufman will present Ms. Biller
\nwith the Kodak Independent Spirit Award tonight at the New York premiere
\nof her film at the Anthology Film Archives.<\/p>\n

The Kodak Independent Spirit Award is the only prize awarded at
\nTromaDance.\u00c2\u00a0 It is given to filmmakers who, through their art and
\ndedication to truly independent cinema, best represent the philosophy
\nbehind the TromaDance Film Festival.\u00c2\u00a0 Previous winners include Jenna
\nFischer (NBC\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s The Office, BLADES OF GLORY), and Giuseppe Andrews (CABIN
\nFEVER, INDEPENDENCE DAY).<\/p>\n

TromaDance is an independent film festival held annually in Park City
\nduring the Sundance period, and is now entering its ninth year.\u00c2\u00a0 It is the
\nfirst film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans.\u00c2\u00a0 Unlike
\nalmost every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers to
\nsubmit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and open to the
\npublic. Also, there are no VIP reservations or preferential treatment
\nregarding films, panels, or parties of any kind given. The organizers of
\nTromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to
\nnew filmmakers. Art \u00e2\u20ac\u201d in all its forms \u00e2\u20ac\u201d is for the people!<\/p>\n
