TNT has officially announced that it has canceled its Jada Pinkett-Smith-starring medical drama ‘HawthoRNe’ after three seasons, Deadline<\/a> is reporting. The news comes after the series’ Season 3 finale drew in approximately 3.6 million viewers, leaving it with a 50 percent chance that it would be renewed.<\/p>\n

‘HawthoRNe’s cancellation comes after TNT decided not to renew it’s critically successful comedy-drama ‘Men of a Certain Age,’ which starred Ray Romano, earlier this summer. The network released a statement regarding it’s decision not to bring the medical drama back for a fourth season, saying network officials appreciate the dedication the cast, crew, producers and writers put into the show. Officials also said they wish everyone involved with the show, which it gave many opportunities to work, nothing but the best.<\/p>\n

Of the cancellation, Pinkett-Smith, who portrayed the title character, the COO and President of James River Hospital, said that she wanted to thank the fans for watching the show. “All our Facebook fans…twitter soldiers and viewers…you held us down,” she added. “Of course you know there is more to come…believe it!”<\/p>\n

‘HawthoRNe’s cancellation also comes as TNT is determining whether or not to bring back its sophomore drama ‘Memphis Beat,’ starring Jason Lee. The show drew in more viewers than ‘HawthoRNe,’ with it’s second season finale drawing in 4.9 million viewers.<\/p>\n
