The Discovery Channel has released another promo from their upcoming series “When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions”.<\/p>\n
Synopsis: Discovery Channel presents the dramatic story of NASA’s pioneering, awe-inspiring missions commemorating the first 50 years of space exploration in the landmark special series WHEN WE LEFT EARTH: THE NASA MISSIONS, airing consecutive Sundays, June 8, 15 and 22 at 9 PM (ET\/PT). <\/p>\n
As a key part of the series, Discovery Channel has transferred priceless original mission footage from NASA’s own secret film vaults to High Definition for the first time, making these national treasures available at unprecedented resolution viewers now and for future generations of scholars and filmmakers.<\/p>\n
From the early quest of the Mercury program to put a man in space, to the historic moon landings, through the Soyuz link up, and the first un-tethered space walk by Bruce McCandless, WHEN WE LEFT EARTH is the incredible story of humankind’s greatest adventures, as it happened, told by the people who were there.<\/p>\n
The vivid HD series features vintage rushes and all the key on-boards filmed by the astronauts themselves. The sequences are captured by cameras on board the spaceships enabling the series to tell the stories in a depth never seen before.<\/p>\n
