When I did happen to catch “Memphis Beat,” I was always impressed by the southern-fried-ness of it all. It seemed homey while actually having a smidgen of the gravitas of “Southland” to make it an impressive show. (For any “Southland” fans, I’m absolutely not saying “Memphis Beat” was “Southland”. They were wildly different.)<\/p>\n

In any case, perhaps I, and the rest of America, should have tuned in more often, since TNT has cancelled the show starring Jason Lee, according to TVLine.<\/a> The show ended up running two seasons on the network. <\/p>\n

“TNT has decided not to pick up a third season of ‘Memphis Beat’,” said the TNT spokesperson. “The network thanks everyone involved in the production of ‘Memphis Beat’ for their work on the series, including the great cast and crew. TNT wishes everyone the best.” That’s show business, I guess. <\/p>\n

It’s kinda sad to see Lee let go from another show, seeing how this show was the vehicle that he headlined after the cancellation of the wildly popular “My Name is Earl.” However, fans of Lee don’t have to worry about him being out of a job for long; he will be on NBC’s “Up All Night” playing a single dad. <\/p>\n
