The hit vampire film “Midnight Son” is set to premiere on FEARnet January 2012! The producer of the film, Midday Moon, LLC, and FEARnet.com<\/a>, made the announcement Monday. <\/p>\n

This premiere will be the first time FEARnet has acquired a film directly from the filmmakers themselves. “We normally acquire films from distributors, but after seeing the film earlier this year and really loving it, I contacted the filmmakers about acquiring it directly from them,” said FEARnet’s President and General Manager Peter Block. “I know it will be something that the FEARnet audience will really respond to, and will be a perfect fit to our 2012 film lineup.”<\/p>\n

The filmmakers behind the film are also as excited about the premiere. “I’m really thrilled that FEARnet is going to premiere the film,” said writer\/director Scott Leberecht. “FEARnet is such a great way to reach out to horror fans, via both their television and VOD platforms, so we\u2019re extremely excited for the movie to be premiering this way.” <\/p>\n

“FEARnet gives the film an amazing opportunity to be seen by so many horror fans all across the country, and as independent filmmakers, that’s incredibly important to us,” said producer Matt Compton. <\/p>\n

The film has been getting great reviews from festival screenings worldwide, including Spain’s Sitges Film Festival, South Korea’s Punchon International Fantastic Film Festival, Australia’s A Night of Horror International Film Festival, Belgium’s Brussells International Fantastic Film Festival, Denmark’s CPH PIX, Canada’s Fantasia International Film Festival and the UK’s Film4 FrightFest. The film will also be seen at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival in Canada, the UK’s Abertoir Horror Festival, and will be a part of the “Scary Movies” series at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City. <\/p>\n

Here’s the synopsis of “Midnight Son”:<\/p>\n

“Midnight Son” is a dark, character-driven drama that plays on horror themes in an understated, subtle way. The story centers on Jacob, a young man grappling with a dramatic physical transformation. No matter how much he eats, he suffers from malnutrition. To his disgust, he finds the blood in his steak packaging more satisfying than the steak itself. Something is changing inside him. When romance sparks with a young woman named Mary, he wrestles with the monster he’s becoming while desperately trying to keep his new craving a secret.”<\/p>\n
